In the beggining...

Boris was a key player in the establishment of the electronic music scene in Brazil, spinning at major clubs and rave parties. In 1988, Boris started his carer as a Light-Jockey at the legendary club Papagaio in Rio de Janeiro, then got his first DJ residency on the private club Hippopotamus. Two years later he was selected as the resident DJ at the brand new club Resumo da Opera, while spinning underground parties at alternative clubs Kitschnet and Dr. Smith. In Spain, Boris mixed a live set at Radio Barcelona's national network show and in Argentina he spun at Bar Nada. In 1990, Boris teamed up with DJ Michel Nahum to revamp Rio's mega club Zoom with parties inspired by contemporary clubs in Manhattan, such as The Roxy, MARS, Palladium and Limelight. After a successful year,  Boris was hired as the resident DJ at the recently opened club Le Boy, spinning six nights a week.

Back and forth

In the next few years Boris lived between Rio and NYC, working as one of the residents at major rave parties B.I.T.C.H., Balako and JLC, while spinning at bars and clubs in Manhattan (The Break, The Hangar, The Works, King, Twirl, Club 96, G Lounge). The record label Utter Records released several compilations featuring productions by Boris (a.k.a. Mack Boris), including Scorpio, Breathless and In My Dreams. Once based in Manhattan, Boris Rio landed residence at The Urge Lounge and partnered with DJ Guto under the moniker 2fabu as a production team.

2fabu

Formed in New York in 2002, 2fabu remixed and created original tracks with singers of NYC's clubland, including Ari Gold (Funk that Ship), Flotilla DeBarge (Contract/Release), Sean Griffith (Crush) and Randy Jones (If I Can't Have You and Sleeping). After landing a contract with the digital record label Fiberlineaudio, 2fabu scored high by remixing Wunderbar by Glove featuring Julia W. and becoming the label's best selling track. The following hit was the remix of Perfect Color by the Israeli group Tanto Project.

Now

In 2006 Boris released several instrumental tracks, including Deep Beat through the now extinct digital label Fiberlineaudio, gathering the support of major DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Ferry Corsten.
On April 2009, Boris released "The Rio Thing-EP", receiving great reviews and support from DJs and online radios. Later in the year, he composed and produced 17 tracks for the DVD workout program "Brazil Butt Lift", released early 2010 in the US.
Boris is now composing and producing 24 original tracks for the soundtrack of "Brazil Butt Lift 2" - mixing Brazilian folkloric rhythms and electronic dance music. Other projects include the production of soundtracks for fitness events and classes, including IntenSati, Brazilian Groove and S.T.E.A.M.

Boris currently lives in Weehawken - NJ, with his two English Bulldogs Oliver Hardy and Ava Gabor. His work is available through the iTunes music store, Amazon.com, Juno Records, DJ Magazine’s store, Magnetic Grooves and Rhapsody.com.
